Description
YMCA Healthy Kids Day is a community celebration designed to heighten awareness about the
importance of kids becoming more physically active and practicing healthier habits in order to grow
into strong, resilient adults. YMCA Healthy Kids Day was created to serve as a platform to: (1)
showcase ways that children can develop healthy lifestyles, (2) raise public awareness of the
importance of lifestyle health, and (3) support community strategies to improve the health of youth
and their families.
Each participating YMCA branch will host a special Community Day to celebrate healthy kids.
Activities will vary by branch, but all events will feature:
1) Healthy eating/snacks
2) Wellness/motivating youth to become more active
3) Safety
4) Live demonstrations
5) Strong families (information on how to make your family stronger, etc.)
